About
CapitalYR provides young professionals with opportunities for networking, meeting new people, keeping up to date on current events and public policy, and getting involved in the political process through campaigns and elections.
Club membership is open to thirtysomethings and twentysomethings — actually, any people ages 18 through 40, inclusive — who live or work in the area and express a preference for the principles of the GOP. We aspire “To improve our communities and ourselves.”
New York’s Capital District is made up of Albany, Rensselaer, Saratoga, and Schenectady counties. We’re centrally located in the Hudson Valley and Upstate New York, at the heart of the Greater Capital Region and the emerging Tech Valley. The area includes the seat of New York State government, Albany, as well as the cities of Schenectady, Troy, Saratoga Springs, and four smaller riverside cities. Suburban towns include Colonie, Clifton Park, Halfmoon, North and East Greenbush, Bethlehem, Guilderland, Niskayuna, and others, in addition to the surrounding exurbs, villages, hamlets, and rural countryside.
